Key Information Document could be delayed

The committee of the EU Parliament that deals with financial and economic regulation (ECON) has overwhelmingly rejected some of the technical parts of the calculations within the KIDS document.

There will now be a full vote in the EU Parliament and people are making noises about full commitment to get the KIDS in place.

However, it is normal for ECON’s views to hold quite a sway over the rest of their colleagues in the full Parliament. Therefore, there might be a delay in implementation. Illustrations and cost disclosure are two of the key elements ECON appears not happy about.
